Hogwarts Legacy 2 Concept.

 Hogwarts Legacy 2 Concept.

The Story:Character

Personally I believe Hogwarts Legacy 2, should pick up where the last game ended year 6 at Hogwarts however, it should start over the summer, and similar to other games like Mass Effect, decisions made should carry over from the first game to the second, as well as players being granted the ability to create more than 8+ characters. The reason is then players can transfer pre-made characters from Game 1 to Game 2, with all prior known spells, wands, and House already added. Since gameplay will be relatively similar, to the first perhaps if a player boots a character from Game 1 to the sequel, they will be able to skip the tutorial, for the game, which was a big turn off for replayability for players who wanted to make a new character in game 1.

What is happening at Hogwarts needs to be unique, however unlike the first game it should connect deeper to the Greater lore of the Wizarding World. The way to do so, is by adding Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindelwald as young Player aged students to the game, as well as bringing the Tri-Wizard Tournament to Hogwarts.bringing the Tri-Wizard Tournament to the game could expand the game world beyond Hogwarts and the Scottish Highlands even bringing players to New places throughout the greater wizarding world as part of DLC.

The Game’s story should of course start in the Summer prior to their return to Hogwarts. Sebastian Sallow perhaps has been sent to Azkaban regardless of the players decision to turn Sebastian in or not at the end of game 1. This can add depth, including relationships with both Anne and Ominus, who will both be attending Hogwarts, since after the death of her Uncle, Anne was cured by a Curse breaker given that Rookwood is now dead, the curse was able to be removed and broken. Perhaps players can play with a potential romance in this game with Ominus and Anne as potential partners, and the Yule Ball as part of the Tri-Wizard Tournament can be an event in the game, during the winter.

Another reason the story should start up prior-to their journey to Hogwarts, is for the addition of New Areas: perhaps players can build their homestead, where they live and go deeper in lore on their family heritage, do they live in the Wizarding full time as a pure blood or are they muggle born growing up in the muggle world. They can also travel to areas like the Ministry of Magic to Attend Sebastian's Trial, visit their friends houses from the previous games perhaps the Gaunt’s Cottage in little hangleton, Diagon Alley, Knockturn Alley and perhaps even 1890’s London.

The tone of this game must be similar to the tone of the first but with the Goblin Rebellion gone and some new dark wizarding force growing in the shadows of the Wizarding World, following Rookwood’s death. Perhaps The Gaunt, Black and Lestrange families can all play a part in this new Dark Wizard Group and Sebastian gets tossed into the mix with these Dark Wizards, who break him out of Azkaban.

New Spells

The first game had a variety of spells attached to it, however not every spell was included. This game should feature new spells as well as additions to upgrade the old spells further.

One Spell in particular that i think that needs to be added is the patronus charm and with it, every possible Patronus, a player can have from Tabby Cat to Dragon. My pottermore Patronus is a RuneSpoor, and I would love to have my three headed serpent Runespoor added to the game as a patronus. Perhaps the player if they chose the dark ending is the new Dark Wizard in this new game, and they gain a mission to break sebastian out of Azkaban, and they must use the patronus to fight dementors.

The list goes on, since the 3 unforgivable curses were already in the first game, we need new Dark Magic Spells and Curses to be learned and the two that come to mind in particular are: Protego Diabolica and Fiend Fyre, which are dangerous and could be fun to used in game particularly in combat.

However, there are also spells like Orb of Water, Aguamenti and Piertotem Locamotor, which if used in game could be amazing additions for players to use.

Their is also Lumos Maxima, as seen in the Harry Potter films, Lumos has many varieties in game, and one in particular was Lumos maxima, with the ability to throw the light and/or the ability to keep the light lit, particularly when in combat.

As well as Patrificus Totallus, which should be able to be used when players aren’t in stealth(disillusionment), as well as when in stealth

New Potions

The potions in game currently help for the most part in healing and combat, with Felix Felicis mostly just assisting in finding treasures and hidden pages/objects. The next game should include potions for a variety of purposes beyond just combat.

Polyjuice Potion for instance, was in the game for a level, however, the player could potentially brew polyjuice potion and sneak into other common rooms, and locations, being able to transform beyond just Professor Black.

While on the topic of Transformation as well, perhaps the ability to make the potion to become an Animagus could be a fun new twist to the game, perhaps Natsai Onai, helps teach this to you, and new missions for players to complete in their animagus form can create new level of stealth for players.

Further, perhaps adding the ability to make potions and poisons, that can be used similar to Weasley’s Wizard Weezes, can be created and used by players for practical jokes and Gareth Weasley is character I think players would love to have more missions with.

Travel, Apparition and Quidditch

While the first game utilized many methods in the wizarding world to travel, across the map including beasts, wands and the floo network, the next game should also include Appartion and unsupported flight, as seen and used by the Dark Wizards in the current game to get arround, perhaps also the inclusion of Portkeys to travel greater distances, such as to and from The Scottish Highlands to London and back.

As for broom travel, this should be taken a step further, with Quidditch finally being added to the game, after Professor Black lifted the ban from the prior year, (unless Black is no longer head master???). Quidditch perhaps can be a great way to upgrade your broom riding skills further as compared to the first game where it was just used as a means of transportation.

Unrestricted Flight. One of the larger problems I had with Hogwarts Legacy is the inability to fly over or land in Hogsmeade. Hogsmeade sits dead center on the map and at times players need to dismount their broom walk through hogsmeade and fly off again on the other side, players should be able to easily travel from Hogwarts to Hogsmeade, unimpeded by the invisible wall over this part of the map, this should also exist over all locations, regardless of its significance, to make it easier to fly and land where necessary and when necessary.

A Wanted/Karma System

I completely agree with most fans on the lines of adding a wanted or Karma system to the game, where for using dark magic players are targeted by Aurors, but this would never work in the first game, as Azkaban is a locked off location for players. Giving players the freedom to play as a dark wizard and truely stretch the boundaries of what it means to be a dark wizard in a game like Hogwarts Legacy could be interesting, the problem is, Azkaban is normally a life sentence not a temporary item, and only if the player was able to play as multiple characters of the same family across multiple blood lines within the wizarding world, would it even make sense for a Karma/Wanted System to work in this game.

Therefore if Developers want to add a wanted system to the game, this game would have to span not only one but two to 3 years time, and allow players not only to play in their 6th and possible 7th year of hogwarts, but also into their adult lives with careers within the ministry, Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade and beyond.

Homesteading instead of the Room of Requirement

As mentioned prior, I think the sequel should allow players to explore the wizarding family aspect of the game, and given that the player at the end of Game 1, has caught up to their peers, game 2 has no reason to use the room of requirement as a secret study hall, for their scholarly ambitions, it is for this reason, I believe, that the game should allow players to build their own magical homestead, their family home: their own Malfoy Manor, Grimmauld Place or Burrow, taking inspiration as the crafting and beast taming place for players to craft items and take care of beasts.

The ability to do so would be a great new function and more expansive than that of the room of requirement. With dozens of places where they can live, within the magical and non-magical world. With ways to care for magical creatures, brew potions, and possible new charms and defenses for the homestead: such as the use of the fidelius charm.

New characters, missions and interactions

As mentioned previously this game needs new characters to name two who I think would make great assets Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindlewald, both would be amazing additions given that they both were in school Albus at Hogwarts Gellert and Durmstrang during this time period.

Albus Dumbledore in fact, could be an amazing ally and possible companion to have in this game, given his talent for magic, even at a young age.

Familiar characters such as: Poppy Sweeting, Natsai Onai, Anne Sallow, Sebastian Sallow, and Ominous Gaunt in particular should all return with new missions and the possibility for romance or even companionship.

A new system should be added for players to build relationships which lead to characters acting as companions on missions can occur.

As for professors, they too should be returning to the game possibly with a new Headmaster or Headmistress to replace Phineas Nigelis Black, who probably should still be in the game with a smaller role. The possability for players to gain reputation with professors through class work to obtain secret/private lessons to learn new magical spells, could be useful in the next game. Think of how Harry gains reputation with Lupin who teaches Harry the Patronus charm.

A new house elf character should be added to the game, that the player adopts as their own House Elf, with the player being able to free the Elf by the end game if they wish.

Shop keepers such as the Olivanders, Gregorovitches, J. Pippin, Beatrice Green,Thomas Brown,Augustus Hill, and Albie Weeks should also be given reputation system applying discounts for how much they like a player built up by the player doing delivery missions for them, which will earn them coin and renown.

Rivals and Bullying

As  part of the reputation system, perhaps players can also make rivals, as well as friends. We know a good deal of bullies exist at hogwarts, but in the first game outside of that “annoying” character Zenobia Noke, there isn’t much bullying going on, and the player in fact is encouraged to help Zenobia. What if the player could act like James Potter and Sirius were towards Snape, or Malfoy was towards Neville and The Golden Trio in this next game, this would give way for house points to go up or down in the game, for bullying and misbehavior in the game.

Following School Rules and House Points

If Rivals and Bullying becomes a feature perhaps school rules and house points being taken or rewarded can also be added to the game, in the current game Prefects only patrol at night during a two missions, perhaps the patrolling prefects, aurors and professors could be an interesting way to lose house points and even be integrated with the wanted/karma systems in game.

Adding the need to follow school rules may require more than just potions and disillusionment to become invisible, perhaps adding cloaks or new stealth magic such as transfiguration could be fun ways to remain stealthy when around such surveyors.
